The Bitmovin Live Encoder now supports passthrough of SCTE-35 markers in source feeds and embeds them in the HLS manifests for use down stream. For OTT workflows, the most common use case is for ad insertion, but they can also be used to segment programs, signal blackouts, and create extensions when a live program like a sporting event runs long.
Sources must be MPEG-2 transport streams delivered to Bitmovin via either SRT or Zixi.
