We’re excited to announce official support for PlayStation 5 with Bitmovin Player!
PlayStation 5 is the newest device added to Bitmovin Player’s lineup, and it meets the same high quality standard that you can expect from the Player. This includes:
- A dedicated PlayStation 5 module which optimises playback on PS5
- Automated testing on PlayStation 5 before every release, ensuring quality playback now and in future

To deploy Bitmovin Player on PlayStation 5 you’ll need to use our Web SDK. This is the same SDK as you’ll use for browsers and Smart TVs (eg. Tizen, WebOS). The only difference is that you should enable the PlayStation 5 module to optimise the Player for PlayStation 5. This approach makes it easier for you to deploy on multiple devices, using the same APIs & SDK for each device.
