Video & Audio Out of Sync on Some Android Devices After Player Upgrade

Description of the unexpected behavior:

After upgrading the Bitmovin Player in our Angular project, we’ve noticed that video and audio become out of sync on certain browsers and devices. The issue is inconsistent—some devices play perfectly, while others show noticeable desynchronization.
This issue has been observed mostly on Android devices, and only in certain combinations of device + browser.



Expected behavior:

Audio and video should remain perfectly synchronized across all supported devices and browsers, including Android.



Steps to reproduce:

We’ve been able to reliably reproduce the sync issue on the following device/browser combinations:

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 (Android v15) | Chrome
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (Android v15) | Samsung Browser
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra (Android v15) | Firefox
  • OnePlus 11 (Android v14) | Chrome
  • Galaxy Tab A8+ (Android v15) | Samsung Browser
  • Galaxy Tab A8+ (Android v15) | Chrome

The issue occurs consistently across these setups after the player upgrade.

Additional context:
This is happening in an Angular application.
The issue started after upgrading the Bitmovin Player version.
Other devices (including iOS) so far do not show the desynchronization problem.
