Summary:
The ability to update analytics data during playback is essential for enabling accurate, real-time tracking in Bitmovin’s React Native SDK. While this is already possible in the native Android and iOS SDKs via the setCustomData() method, there is currently no equivalent available in React Native.

Request:
We earnestly request that Bitmovin expose the native setCustomData() method through the React Native SDK, allowing analytics data to be updated dynamically during playback. This would ensure feature parity across platforms and support advanced analytics use cases.
We hope that other customers will also express interest in this functionality so that it can be considered in future updates of the Bitmovin SDK for React Native.

Hi Dilang, thanks for requesting this feature. I can understand how this would be useful.

We don’t currently have a timeline for adding this feature but we’ll consider whether we can include it on our roadmap.

Alternatively, as the React Native project is open source it would be possible to contribute this if you’d like to go down that route.
