Subtitles. Is there a way to add a global style/override any embedded subtitle styling. As per now I get different styles and subtitle positioning depending on the provided subtitle format. Frustrating. 
Iām not a developer so please go easy on me.

You could try overriding the CSS in the UI via
.bmpui-ui-subtitle-overlay and .bmpui-ui-subtitle-label
