CEA-608 support for Android

Hello everybody,

I’m migrating from ExoPlayer to Bitmovin player in my Android app and during my testing and reading the documentation I discovered that the CEA-608 is not compatible with the Android SDK.

Could you explain why only Android apps don’t have this support? Are there plans to make this feature? If not, is there another way to support CEA-608 using Bitmovin Player?

Hi,
As far as I know, 608/708 should work.
To verify, I jut gave this stream a try with one of the latest versions of our player and 608/708 subtitles work as expected

I recommend giving it a try with your stream too if possible.
