# How do I control through media session api in bitmovin player(v7)?

Currently, using the node of v12.22.12, the react project uses the encode & player function using bitmovin for the DRM media file. I’m trying to control media using media session api in this situation, but I don’t know what to do.

First of all, you’re mentioning Bitmovin Player **v7** in the title - Please upgrade to Bitmovin Player v8 by following our [Migration Guide v7 to v8](https://bitmovin.com/docs/player/tutorials/migration-guide-v7-to-v8) as v7 in UNSUPPORTED per our [Player’s Lifecycle Policy](https://bitmovin.com/docs/player/articles/bitmovin-player-lifecycle-policy).
