Breaking change in **React Native SDK** [1.30.0](https://github.com/bitmovin/bitmovin-player-react-native/blob/development/CHANGELOG.md#1300---2026-10-29): Google Interactive Media Ads (IMA) is now opt-in on Android, iOS and tvOS.

**Using [`AdSourceType.IMA`](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/reactnative/1/docs/enums/AdSourceType.html#ima)?** Then you need to:

1. Set `features.googleIMA: true` in the plugin config
2. Rerun Expo prebuild
3. Rebuild the native app

Without this, IMA ad sources are skipped and a JavaScript warning is logged.

**Projects without Expo:** see the manual setup in the [README](https://github.com/bitmovin/bitmovin-player-react-native#google-ima).

**Not using IMA?** Nothing changes for the [Bitmovin Advertising Module](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/reactnative/1/docs/enums/AdSourceType.html#bitmovin) or plain playback, and your app no longer bundles ads dependency you don’t use.

Details in [Setting up Ads in React Native](https://developer.bitmovin.com/playback/docs/setting-up-ads-react-native).
