Here’s a monthly roundup of some things you might have missed from our releases in February we think are particularly useful. This includes improvements, updates and new features, as well as capturing UX and dashboard updates that don’t usually get called out in our release notes.

## Player

- **Android:** Introduced a new event ([PeriodChanged](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/android/3/docs/player-core/com.bitmovin.player.api.event/-source-event/-period-changed/index.html)) for DASH streams to indicate a change of the active period
- **iOS:** Updated [PlayerFactory](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/ios/3/docs/Classes/PlayerFactory.html) API to include [AnalyticsPlayerConfig](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/ios/3/docs/Enums/AnalyticsPlayerConfig.html) to simplify setting up the Bitmovin Player with Analytics (now also updated in the [Getting Started Guide](https://developer.bitmovin.com/playback/docs/getting-started-ios#create-the-player))
- **iOS:** Support for side-loaded SRT (SubRip) subtitles (see our [Subtitles & Captions Support](https://developer.bitmovin.com/playback/docs/subtitles-captions) and [API Reference](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/ios/3/docs/Enums/SubtitleFormat.html#/c:@M@BitmovinPlayerCore@E@BMPSubtitleFormat@BMPSubtitleFormatSrt))
- **iOS:** Privacy manifests for BitmovinPlayer and BitmovinPlayerCore frameworks
- **Web:** VVC codecs are now supported and chosen with priority in multi-codec track selection (see [videoCodecPriority](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/ios/3/docs/Classes/PlayerFactory.html))
- **Web:** WISH ABR tweak property [USE\_RATE\_BASED\_SELECTION\_ON\_SEEKING](https://cdn.bitmovin.com/player/web/8/docs/types/Core.WishAbrConfig.html) that bypasses lowest quality decision when seeking, to temporarily disable WISH during startup phase and seeking, in favor of a purely rate-based quality selection
